3D Model of a map is a 3-dimensional graphic representation of a surface. This is also known as digital elevation model or digital terrain model. These are useful for surface analysis.
3-Dimensional Floor plans were constructed with reference to dimensions on scanned images using Autodesk’s Architectural Desktop 2004 software. 2-Dimensional blocks were placed in the floor plans as per specification. Manual quality check was done by matching vector files against raster files. Created PDF files were created using M-color software and delivery was done in DWG and PDF format.
400 km of highway and adjoining ground cadastre information (75 meters on each side) was digitized, containing elements such as streets, houses, and plots. Individual maps were georeferenced using the Gauss-Krueger coordinate system and merged into a single map containing 75 meters on both sides of 400 km of highway.

Electrical network information containing cables, substations, transformers, were digitized on a digital ground cadastre map using customized tools provided in GEBIS software. Electrical devices were drawn as per dimension shown on the scanned maps provided by the client. Each electrical device was linked to a MS access database containing information such as cable source, destination, location and specifications, transformer types and details.
AABSyS digitized parts of an electrical distribution network of a German city which included cable and network information. The final product is used for electrical network maintenance and information storage.

Ground cadastre maps were digitized as per client specifications.
Satellite images of adjacent land areas (Scale: 1:30,000) were merged, grey scale adjusted and different land cover types were classified.AABSyS created an ortho-photo (composite image) from four satellite images (in TIFF format). The four images were merged with a minimum loss of contrast, the grey scale was adjusted and minor mismatched at the edges were fine-tuned.edges were fine-tuned.

ASCII files containing GPS coordinates, point descriptions, field notes and hand drawn sketches were provided to AABSyS.
AABSyS produced a digital topographic map of two regions in Romania. With the help of the digital map, effects of earthquakes on the region can be studied.Scanned images were used as reference and digitization was done using MapInfo Software. Different themes were created in different layers.
